AboutChâteau Doyac

Max and Astrid de Pourtalès acquired Château Doyac in 1998, exchanging professional lives in Paris for the demanding work of a Haut-Médoc vineyard. Their daughter Clémence has since joined them. At Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, the nearly contiguous vineyard runs over clay-limestone slopes, and Merlot leads the plantings.

The estate entered organic conversion in 2015 and moved into biodynamic work in 2016. Native yeasts carry fermentations in temperature-controlled steel, with restrained extraction and ageing in barrels or amphora.

Château Doyac 2021 Le Pélican Haut-Médoc

French Red
$49.99
Cassis and blackberry open a supple, accessible red, followed by gentle sweet spice. Made entirely from Merlot, the palate is juicy and smooth, with silky tannins giving shape without heaviness. Dark fruit remains clear through the middle, while the spice returns on the close. The result is polished and open-knit, with enough structure to keep the ripe fruit composed.

Château Doyac 2021 Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois

French Red
$49.99
Blackberry and fresh raspberry lead a rich but balanced red, with redcurrant, flowers and fine pepper adding lift. Merlot forms the core, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The palate combines ripe fruit with clear acidity and firm structure, while the tannins stay composed. Fresh berries and pepper remain present through the finish, keeping the generous fruit lively.
