AboutDormilona
Josephine Perry founded Dormilona in Margaret River in 2012 after a decade of cellar work across Australia, France, Spain and California. The name means “lazy bones” in Spanish, a nickname earned when early-morning surfing left her nodding off over late dinners during vintage.
She works with Western Australian fruit, favouring organically or biodynamically grown grapes from family-run vineyards. Earlier picking and minimal cellar adjustments guide the winemaking, with the wines generally bottled without fining or filtration. Perry received the Young Gun of Wine title in 2016, following the Best New Act award in 2013.

Blood orange, grapefruit and guava accompany tannin in this skin-fermented white blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Part of the fruit ferments on skins in open-top tanks for two weeks, while a second component spends eight weeks on skins in a concrete egg. Elevage takes place in concrete and neutral barrel. The wine is bottled with minimal sulphur, and the vineyards are managed organically.
