The Dönnhoff family has lived in Oberhausen an der Nahe for more than 250 years. Cornelius Dönnhoff now runs the estate and cellar. The property farms about 25 hectares, roughly four-fifths Riesling with the balance devoted to Pinot-family varieties.
The vineyards range from volcanic ground near Schlossböckelheim to slate around Oberhausen, and sandstone and loess toward Roxheim. Grapes are selectively hand picked, with stainless steel or traditional large oak used according to the wine.

German White
Precise and quietly expressive, with lemon, crisp apple and pear joined by melon and a clear slate-like mineral note. The dry palate is medium-bodied, balancing ripe orchard fruit with fresh acidity and a restrained, elegant texture. A clean, stony finish works well with shellfish, richer fish dishes, roast poultry or mild cheeses.
