Domaine Zind-Humbrecht was created in 1959 through the marriage of Léonard Humbrecht and Geneviève Zind, joining two Alsace winegrowing families. The families’ documented roots reach to 1620, while the modern domaine developed holdings across several distinct Alsace terroirs. Olivier Humbrecht and Margaret lead the current generation, with their son Pierre-Émile joining the estate in 2019.

The domaine farms roughly forty hectares and works the principal Alsace varieties, keeping site and grape differences visible across the range. Organic and biodynamic status is supported by estate records and the Biodyvin register, rather than inferred from marketing language. The estate continues from Turckheim under Olivier Humbrecht, with biodynamic certification recorded separately from its long family history.

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht 2016 Muscat Turckheim

French White
$41.99
Muscat d’Alsace accounts for eighty-five percent of the blend, with fifteen percent Muscat Ottonel. The thirty-seven-year-old vines grow on gravelly silt and loam at the edge of Herrenweg de Turckheim, where the microclimate is warm. Fermentation was quick and finished bone dry. Pale yellow-green colour accompanies delicate floral aromas, an airy texture and soft velvet on the palate. The profile has tannic structure and a long finish.

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht 2022 Rangen de Thann Clos Saint-Urbain Grand Cru Riesling

French White
$231.99
Smoke, flint and wet stone lead a restrained, intensely mineral bouquet. With air, yellow fruit and subtle tropical notes emerge, adding breadth without obscuring the volcanic character. The palate is powerful yet finely chiselled, driven by vivid acidity and a firm stony core. Dry, harmonious and exceptionally persistent, it closes with citrus, earth and an emphatic saline finish.
