AboutDomaine Naudin-Ferrand

Naudin-Ferrand traces its family history in the Hautes-Côtes to around 1500, long before the modern estate took shape under Henri Naudin and Liliane Ferrand. Their daughter Claire returned with qualifications in agronomy and oenology, took charge of the team in 1993 and formally established herself as the domaine’s manager in 1994. Based at Magny-lès-Villers, she runs a roughly twenty-two-hectare estate, with most of the vines in regional Hautes-Côtes appellations and a smaller share in village, premier-cru and grand-cru sites.

Claire avoids chemical weedkillers and works with organic methods, though she has chosen not to seek certification. In the cellar, she uses native yeasts and very little added sulphur, with whole-bunch fermentation for some wines and gravity to move the wine.

Domaine Naudin-Ferrand 2023 Bourgogne Aligoté

French White
$51.99

Aligoté comes from parcels in Magny-lès-Villers and Villers-la-Faye, on shallow, gently sloping clay-limestone soils with good sun exposure. Grapes are harvested by hand and pressed directly. Fermentation takes place in enamelled or stainless-steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, followed by full malolactic conversion and several months on the lees. The wine is lightly filtered and bottled by gravity.
