AboutDomaine Marchand-Grillot
Domaine Marchand-Grillot took shape in 1950, when the Marchand family of Morey-Saint-Denis and the Grillot family of Gevrey-Chambertin joined their vineyards through marriage. Jacques Marchand succeeded Michel Marchand and Colette Grillot in 1975, introducing estate bottling and keeping wines from individual vineyard parcels separate in the cellar. His son Etienne made his first vintage in 2009, and Etienne’s sister Marion returned in 2015 to oversee the estate’s sales and administration.
Today the family tends about twelve hectares, divided among roughly fifty parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Gilly-lès-Cîteaux and Brochon. Native yeasts are used for fermentation, with very limited sulphur additions in the cellar.
