AboutDomaine Louis Lequin et Fils

The Lequin family’s history in Santenay dates to 1604, with its first recorded vineyard purchase following in 1669. Louis-Isidore Lequin built the family house and founded the domaine in 1852, financing new parcels through winter work in Santenay’s silica mines and even a trade in Burgundy snails. Later generations embraced estate bottling and export; in 1950, Jean Lequin sent the family’s wines to New York’s Waldorf Astoria.

Louis and Cécile took charge of their part of the family estate in 1993. Their son Antoine joined in 2004 and made his first solo vintage in 2009. The domaine’s vineyards extend from Santenay to Pommard and Nuits-Saint-Georges, with holdings in Bâtard-Montrachet and Corton-Charlemagne.

Domaine Louis Lequin et Fils 2018 Pommard Les Noizons

French Red
$204.99

Wilted violet, orange peel, red plum, raspberry, kirsch and dark forest berries rise over cedar, chocolate, scorched earth, licorice and vanilla. The palate is smooth and buoyant, its vibrant juiciness set against Pommard’s rustic, savoury depth and gentle oak spice. Silky tannins keep the structure polished. The finish is long and harmonious, trailing black pepper, licorice and fine red fruit.
