AboutDomaine Latour-Giraud
Domaine Latour-Giraud brings together two Meursault families: the Latour line is documented around 1680, while the Girauds established a local distillery in the nineteenth century. The two properties were united by marriage in 1958. Jean-Pierre Latour took charge in 1993 and manages the vineyards and cellar, while Christine Latour oversees the estate’s administration.
The estate works about ten hectares, mainly for white Burgundy, including parcels in five Meursault premiers crus. The domaine has 2.5 hectares in Genevrières, as well as vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet and sites for red Burgundy. The vineyards are farmed organically without certification, and new oak is used sparingly in the cellar.
Domaine Latour-Giraud 2022 Meursault Premier Cru Les Genevrières
Golden orchard fruit and a light herbal note emerge over a restrained, mineral nose. The palate is broad yet precise, with ripe fruit woven tightly through fresh acidity and a fine, almost delicate texture. Subtle exotic tea and citrus add lift as the wine gains intensity. Bone-dry and beautifully structured, it finishes exceptionally long, energetic and focused, retaining both charm and the quiet authority of premier-cru Meursault.
