AboutDomaine Guiberteau
In 1996, Romain Guiberteau took charge of family vineyards first established by his grandfather. He chose winegrowing over a career in law, rebuilding the domaine parcel by parcel.
The domaine now covers seventeen hectares in Bizay, Brézé, Chacé, Montreuil-Bellay and Saint-Just-sur-Dive, planted solely to Chenin for white wines and Cabernet Franc for reds. Some vines are more than eighty years old. Organic farming began in 2000, with formal conversion in 2003 and certification in 2007.
Domaine Guiberteau 2017 Saumur Rouge Les Arboises Cabernet Franc
Straight and energetic, with a savoury core and a smoky bacon note that gives aromatic depth without weighing the wine down. The palate is taut and focused, carried by fresh acidity and a fine, silky tannin line. Its shape is elegant rather than broad, and the fruit remains restrained and precise. A clear saline note takes over on the finish, leaving a clean, persistent close.
Domaine Guiberteau 2022 Saumur Blanc
Lemon, lime, white peach and melon open with wet stone, white flowers and a light touch of vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied and laser-focused, its bright citrus core sharpened by vibrant acidity. Pure, mineral and quietly textured, it finishes long and clean with chalky freshness.
