AboutDomaine François Chidaine

François Chidaine established his domaine at Montlouis-sur-Loire in 1989, beginning with only a few hectares before Manuéla joined the project in 2000. The estate now works fifty hectares: twenty-five in Montlouis-sur-Loire, ten in Vouvray and fifteen in Touraine, divided among more than fifty individual parcels. The vineyards include flint, limestone and clay-rich soils.

Organic farming began in 1992 and biodynamic methods followed in 1999; the domaine now holds Biodyvin certification. Chenin Blanc is central to the range, alongside red wines from Touraine.

Domaine François Chidaine 2022 Touraine Rouge

French Red
$42.99

Equal parts Côt, Cabernet Franc and Pinot d’Aunis come from biodynamically farmed vineyards around Montrichard and Chissay-en-Touraine. Red fruit, faint minerality and pepper shape the profile, supported by medium tannins, bright acidity and moderate complexity. The blend carries good concentration and length, while the three varieties remain clearly integrated. Plenty of character completes the profile.
