AboutDomaine Delaporte
The Delaporte family has grown vines in Chavignol, in the hills of Sancerre, since the seventeenth century. Vincent Delaporte developed the modern estate, which is now run by his grandson Matthieu. Its 33 hectares are planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir on limestone, flint and clay-limestone soils.
Every parcel has been harvested by hand since 2015, and the estate gained organic certification in 2023. Small harvest crates and gentle hydraulic pressing are part of a cellar approach that uses less added sulphur.
Domaine Delaporte 2022 Sancerre Chavignol Blanc
Light gold colour with green highlights accompanies boxwood, rhubarb, blackcurrant, kiwi, white flowers, white fruit and citrus. The palate is soft and rounded, with bright freshness and mineral notes. Balance and a long finish are also present. Sauvignon Blanc accounts for the entire wine. The grapes were harvested by hand, and the wine records thirteen percent alcohol under the Sancerre appellation.
