Bernard Baudry 2016 Chinon Rosé
French Rosé
Direct pressing gives the Cabernet Franc a pale pink colour. The dry rosé shows white-fruit character. Fruit comes from several gravel plots and young Cabernet Franc vines on hillside sites. Grapes are harvested by hand before direct pressing and fermentation in unlined cement vats. Fermentation continues until residual sugar falls below two grams per litre.

French Red
Cabernet Franc from gravel-and-sand terraces offers dark berries, cassis, tree bark and cigar smoke. The palate is bright and tangy, with moderate tannins, grip and a long finish. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented for fifteen days in cement. Maturation lasts seven to ten months in cement tanks. The vines were planted between the mid- and late nineteen-eighties, and the vineyard is certified organic.

Raspberry and redcurrant meet subtle mineral notes. The palate carries the same fruit with acidity and discreet tannins. Cabernet Franc comes from soils composed of seventy percent gravel and thirty percent slope clay. The vines average thirty to thirty-five years old. Grapes were harvested by hand, fermentation was slow in cement tanks, and maturation lasted twelve months in older barrels and wooden vats. The wine was bottled in autumn.

Bernard Baudry 2018 Chinon Blanc Le Domaine
French White
Chenin provides the base for this Loire white. Bright straw with a watery hue, it offers Jonathan apple, pear, honeysuckle, quince and light spicy musk. The palate brings ripe pear and baked apple with good weight and a soft, rich texture. Further quince and spice are present. The finish is dry and fresh, with a medium-to-long spicy aftertaste.
