George Henry Delaforce established his Port house in 1868, building on a family connection to the trade that had begun with John Delaforce in 1834. The house held a Portuguese royal warrant from 1894 to 1906. Real Companhia Velha acquired Delaforce in 2008. Delaforce’s Douro vineyard sources include the Roncão and Rio Torto valleys. Blending and ageing underpin a range of fruit-led, wood-matured and Vintage Ports.

Portuguese Fortified
Violet and lavender rise above dried cherry, fig and sweet red fruit, with cinnamon, nutmeg, cedar and spiced chocolate adding mature complexity. The palate is medium-bodied and sweet, its resolved tannins carrying toffee, berry and a touch of cold tea. Balanced and persistent, it is ready to enjoy after careful decanting.
