Fattoria Colmone della Marca was founded in 2003 near San Severino Marche, on the inland hills below the castle of Pitino. The estate belongs to the Meschini family, with Piero’s farming knowledge carried forward by his sons Giovanni and Pierluigi.
Vineyard work includes thinning the crop and selecting grapes by hand over several passes. The range includes Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Vernaccia Nera alongside international varieties.

Italian Red
Made entirely from Montepulciano, the wine has intense ruby-red colour. Red cherry and morello cherry appear with vanilla, spice and black pepper. The palate has structure, savoury character and complexity. Grapes are harvested by hand during the first ten days of October. Maceration lasts fifteen days. Maturation includes twelve months in fine-grained Allier oak and twelve months of bottle ageing. Alcohol is 13.5 percent.

Blue and black fruit lead the nose, joined by vanilla and a subtle clove note. The palate is plush and plummy, with ripe berry flavours held by smooth, well-integrated tannins. Fresh acidity keeps the generous texture in balance, while savoury spice and dark fruit linger through a composed, persistent finish.

Bright red berries lead the nose with a clean, generous lift. The palate is plush and rounded, bringing ripe fruit together with savoury spice and a firm but polished frame. Fresh acidity keeps the wine lively, while measured tannins carry the berry fruit and peppery detail through a balanced, food-friendly finish.
