AboutCol d'Orcia
Col d’Orcia lies on Montalcino’s southern side, between the Orcia River and Sant’Angelo in Colle, with Sangiovese at the centre of its vineyards. It became a separate estate in 1958 after the division of the Franceschi family property. The Marone Cinzano family bought it in 1973, and Francesco Marone Cinzano took the lead in 1992.
Organic conversion began in 2010, with certification from the 2013 harvest covering the whole estate, including its olive groves, fields and woodland.

Red cherry, plum and cranberry form the documented fruit profile, joined by violet, clove and fennel. Tobacco, cedar, licorice and dried herbs add mature savoury detail; a saline edge is also recorded. The palate is described as silky and polished, leading to a long, refined finish marked by spice, menthol and porcini. Four years of oak ageing is also recorded.
