AboutCobb

David and Diane Cobb planted Coastlands Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast with their son Ross in 1989. They began supplying Williams Selyem in 1992, before founding Cobb Wines in 2001 with a first release of just 130 cases.

Ross’s winemaking experience includes time at Flowers and Williams Selyem. The family works with both its own parcels and long-standing grower vineyards along the coast.

Cobb 2017 Coastlands Vineyard Old Firs Block Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

American Red
$179.99
Dark cherry and raspberry open with bay laurel, rose petal, lavender and white pepper. The palate is polished and svelte, its perfumed fruit held in a fresh, finely grained frame. Strawberry and tea leaf add detail before a lifted finish of orange rind and Meyer lemon peel, elegant and quietly persistent.

Cobb 2017 Emmaline Ann Vineyard Pinot Noir

American Red
$161.99
Perfumed and finely drawn, with bright cranberry, red cherry and a hint of plum framed by rose, lavender and forest floor. The palate is light on its feet yet concentrated, carrying fresh red fruit over subtle spice, dried mushroom and savoury herbal notes. Fine texture and clear acidity give the wine focus, while the finish remains long and nuanced. Serve with duck, roast pork, salmon, lentils or wild mushrooms.

Cobb 2017 Doc’s Ranch Vineyard Pommard & 114 Selection Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

American Red
$179.99
Dense layers of black cherry, red plum and black tea open the wine, followed by cardamom and anise. The palate is juicy and succulent, with generous fruit carried by a smooth, detailed texture. Blueberry and red cherry bring lift, while measured spice and a neatly resolved finish keep the richer profile composed.
