AboutCoates & Seely

Friends Nicholas Coates and Christian Seely founded Coates & Seely in 2008, choosing Hampshire’s south-facing chalk slopes for their English sparkling wines. Their first wine followed in 2009.

The vines are grown without herbicides or insecticides, and the grapes are picked by hand. Stainless-steel tanks and egg-shaped concrete vessels are used for the base wines, followed by bottle fermentation and extended ageing on the lees.
