Kevin and Angie Winter opened Coast Mountain Brewing in Whistler’s Function Junction in the late summer of 2016 after beginning as home brewers in Pemberton. Kevin had previously worked at Whistler Brewing and Mission Springs, and family and friends helped build the new brewery.
Hop-forward ales and crisp lagers share the range with small-batch releases, sour beers and collaborations. The Function Junction tap house has a covered patio.
Coast Mountain Solar Patroller Hazy Pale Ale 473 mL

Fruit-saturated and aromatic, this hazy pale ale combines Citra, Luminosa and Sabro for layers of citrus, peach, guava and coconut. The palate is soft and expressive, with ripe fruit carried by a fresh hop frame and an easy, bright finish. Serve well chilled with grilled fish, jerk chicken, coconut curry or a citrus-dressed salad; the tropical profile stays lively at the table.

Tropical citrus and ripe stone fruit lead the profile, followed by a subtle herbal note and a clean, refreshing finish. Centennial, Mosaic, HBC 638 and Ekuanot hops give the lager aromatic breadth while its crisp structure keeps the fruit precise and lively. The result is expressive without losing its easy-drinking balance. Serve well chilled with fish tacos, grilled chicken, sharp cheddar or citrus-dressed prawns.

Passion fruit, stone fruit and pineapple sit at the centre of a concentrated West Coast hop profile, with a distinct dank edge adding depth. Nectaron, Simcoe and Columbus hops drive the aroma and give the finish a firm, structured presence rather than soft sweetness. This is an assertive double IPA suited to a smaller glass. Serve well chilled with barbecue, rich burgers, blue cheese or aged cheddar.

A juicy IPA with a plush, rounded mouthfeel and a bright citrus centre. Citra brings clear orange and grapefruit lift, while Mosaic adds a gentle tropical accent. Malted oats and wheat soften the texture without dulling the hop character, leaving the palate expressive, balanced and fresh through the finish. Serve cool with fried chicken, fish tacos, grilled prawns, spicy noodles, sharp cheddar or herb-led vegetable dishes.

Yuzu citrus, black tea and delicate floral blossom notes give this rice lager a distinctive but restrained aromatic profile. The palate stays crisp and clean, with the rice-led structure keeping the body light and the flavours precise.
