AboutClaus Preisinger
Claus Preisinger has made wine in Gols, on the northern shore of Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, since 2002. He converted the vineyards and winery to biodynamic production in 2006 and is a certified member of Respekt-BIODYN. Across forty-four hectares around the lake, native red varieties—especially Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and Saint-Laurent—give the estate its red-wine core, alongside a smaller white-wine component.
Fermentation begins with naturally occurring yeasts, and sulphur additions are kept small. The cellar also uses amphorae.
Claus Preisinger 2024 Puszta Blanca!
Austrian White
Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc and Muscat Ottonel form a 60/35/5 blend. The fruit comes from biodynamic vineyards in Burgenland on limestone and gravel soils. Fermentation begins spontaneously in stainless steel with seven days of skin contact, followed by seven months on the lees. Preserved lemon, honeysuckle, ginger, pomelo, yellow grapefruit and pineapple accompany a mineral, saline structure.
