AboutCiavolich
The Ciavolich family’s Abruzzo story begins around 1560, when wool merchants of Bulgarian origin settled in Miglianico and gradually became landowners. Francesco Ciavolich built the family’s first wine cellar in 1853. The old Miglianico cellar ceased production after the family was forced to leave in 1943, but vineyard work resumed at the Loreto Aprutino estate in the 1960s.
Chiara Ciavolich has managed the estate since 2004. Around Loreto Aprutino, thirty-five hectares of vines sit between the Adriatic and the Gran Sasso, across clay-rich ground that supports both Montepulciano and native white varieties.

Italian White
Made entirely from Pecorino, the fruit comes from vineyards in Pianella and Loreto Aprutino. The grapes are hand-picked in the first hours of daylight and carried to the winery in small baskets. After soft pressing, the must ferments at controlled temperature in stainless steel. A small portion spends three months in French tonneaux before blending and bottling, followed by about two months in bottle.
