AboutChristian Drouin
In 1960, Christian Drouin senior bought Fiefs Sainte-Anne near Honfleur and began distilling cider apples with Pierre Pivet. For almost twenty years, he built stocks in old Sherry, Port and Calvados casks without selling the spirit. His son Christian joined in 1969, and the family began selling Calvados in 1979.
Guillaume Drouin joined in 2004 after training in agronomy and winemaking, later taking responsibility for production and management. Christian and Guillaume taste every cask each year to decide which blends and vintages need longer ageing. Calvados remains the house’s focus, alongside cider, unaged apple spirit and gin.
Christian Drouin Blanche de Normandie Apple Brandy
French Brandy
Fresh apple and pear aromas open with a clear orchard-fruit character. The palate is crisp and expressive, moving from ripe fruit toward apple peel, gentle spice and a lightly warming finish. Its clean, unaged style keeps the fruit vivid and direct rather than oak-driven. Serve lightly chilled as a digestif, or use it in cocktails where fresh apple flavour and aromatic lift are welcome.
Christian Drouin XO Calvados Pays d’Auge
French Brandy
Baked apple and warm spice open the nose, with flowers, almond and polished oak developing underneath. The palate is dense and rounded, bringing ripe orchard fruit together with vanilla, gentle tannin and the nutty complexity of long ageing in old Cognac casks. A subtle rancio note adds savoury depth without obscuring the fruit. The finish is long, composed and warmly spiced, carrying apple, oak and toasted nuts. Serve neat after dinner at cool room temperature.
Le Gin de Christian Drouin
French Gin
Fresh apple and juniper give the aroma an immediate lift, followed by rose, lemon peel and a fine thread of ginger. The palate is smooth and rounded, layering vanilla, cinnamon, almond and cardamom over bright orchard fruit. Floral citrus keeps the spice precise rather than heavy. The finish is clean and gently warming, with apple, juniper and sweet spice returning in an elegant, aromatic line.
