Pierre Quancard founded the Bordeaux wine house in 1844 as Quancard et Fils. It took the name Cheval Quancard in 1985 and is led today by Roland Quancard, the sixth generation of the family. The house grows grapes and also sources and matures wines from across Bordeaux. Its selection includes family-estate wines and exclusive château bottlings from appellations such as Saint-Émilion, Margaux and the Côtes.

Citrus, apricot, flint and fine vanilla appear in the profile. The palate is round and silky, with intense fruit, measured oak and a fresh finish; these elements remain in balance. Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle form the dry white blend. Barrel ageing is part of the production, and forty-five thousand bottles were made. It can accompany scallop tartare.
