AboutChâteau Suduiraut

Château Suduiraut takes its name from the 1580 marriage of Nicole d’Allard and Léonard de Suduiraut. After a fire during the Fronde, the château was rebuilt in the seventeenth century, with gardens designed by Le Nôtre. The estate was ranked a First Growth of Sauternes in 1855 and acquired by AXA Millésimes in 1992.

Its ninety-one hectares of vines grow on gravelly, sandy-clay ground, with Sémillon the main variety alongside Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris. Autumn mists from the Ciron and Garonne encourage noble rot. For its Sauternes, the team picks by hand in up to five passes, selecting individual berries as they reach the desired concentration.
