AboutChâteau Roquefort

Jean and Christiane Bellanger bought Château Roquefort in Entre-deux-Mers in 1976. The first thirty hectares of vines were planted in 1983, the first wine followed in 1987, and Frédéric Bellanger assumed leadership in 1995.

Frédéric and Anne Bellanger now lead an estate of roughly 240 hectares, with about eighty-five hectares under vine and the balance kept as woodland, pasture and other living habitat. The vineyard’s limestone and clay include pockets rich in fossilised oyster shells.

Château Roquefort 2024 Les Roches Blanches Sauvignon Blanc

French White
$29.99

Elderflower, lemon balm, jasmine and white peach appear with a fresh, intense profile and typical Sauvignon Blanc aromas. Vines average twenty years old and grow organically on clay-limestone soils containing fossilised oyster beds. Winemaking includes protection of the harvested fruit from oxidation, skin maceration and low-temperature fermentation. Ageing takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. The wine contains twelve and a half percent alcohol.
