AboutChâteau Recougne

Château Recougne has been the Milhade family’s home estate since 1938, with four generations cultivating its vines and making wine there. Marc Milhade manages the vineyards, while his sister Elodie looks after sales.

The roughly hundred-hectare vineyard lies on sandy-clay slopes with iron-rich subsoil, planted mainly with Merlot alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carmenère. The family has replanted Carmenère, one of Bordeaux’s historic varieties. Its Bordeaux Supérieur red is fermented in concrete and aged in large vessels.
