AboutChâteau L'Église-Clinet

Château L’Église-Clinet took shape in 1882 when parcels from Clos de l’Église and the Clinet family holdings were brought together beside Pomerol’s church. Denis Durantou took direct control in 1983 and renewed the vineyards and cellar. After his death in 2020, the estate remained with the family; his daughter Noëmie is now its winemaker.

About four and a half hectares of gravel and clay lie near the centre of Pomerol. Merlot leads the plantings, with Cabernet Franc alongside.

Château L’Église-Clinet 1999 Pomerol

French Wine
$319.99
Mature and understated, with black cherry, smoke and forest floor leading the nose. Earth and leather add depth, while a thread of freshness keeps the profile from feeling tired. The palate is medium-bodied and supple, its fruit now fully integrated with soft tannins and restrained savoury detail. Subtle spice appears toward the close, and the finish is measured rather than forceful, leaving dark cherry, smoke and underbrush behind.
