AboutChâteau Gloria

Henri Martin began Château Gloria with a single hectare in the late 1930s and registered its name in 1942. He assembled the estate parcel by parcel, buying small vineyards from nine classified growths in Saint-Julien and Pauillac. The vineyard now covers fifty hectares in Saint-Julien.

Cabernet Sauvignon leads the planting, with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc alongside; harvest is conducted manually. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats and aged for fourteen months in barrels, forty percent of which are replaced each year.

Château Gloria 2008 Saint-Julien

French Red
$129.99

Intense dark red in colour, with generous currant, plum and bright red cherry framed by tobacco, earth and gentle spice. The palate is medium-bodied, supple and immediately inviting, bringing pure fruit together with fresh acidity and soft, settled tannins. Elegant and savoury through the finish, it is ready with a short decant and suits roast beef, duck or lamb.
