Château Beauregard

Château Beauregard’s roots are medieval: the Knights Hospitaller of Saint John of Jerusalem held a manor in Pomerol and farmed the surrounding land. The Beauregard family later built on the site, and the present Gironde chartreuse replaced that first house during the Napoleonic era. Viticulture became the estate’s focus in the mid-eighteenth century, establishing a much longer wine history than the current ownership chapter alone suggests.

The Moulin and Cathiard families acquired Beauregard in 2014, restoring the chartreuse and rebuilding the technical spaces while preserving the estate’s classical character. Its 17.5 hectares sit on the south-eastern edge of the Pomerol plateau, where gravel, clay and sand are farmed organically and worked plot by plot. Merlot and Cabernet Franc are handled with equal precision in a gravity-flow cellar built around concrete vats, keeping the emphasis on freshness, texture and the character of each parcel.
