AboutChampagne Thiénot
Alain Thiénot founded his Reims house in 1985 after nearly twenty years selecting grapes as a Champagne broker. His children Garance and Stanislas now lead the family-owned house with Nicolas Uriel, cellar master since 2017.
Thirty hectares in Grand and Premier Cru villages supply more than half of the house’s grapes. Temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks have been part of the cellar from the beginning. Beneath Reims, two kilometres of cellars hold some vintage wines for as long as sixteen years.
Champagne Thiénot Brut NV
Pale gold colour and plentiful small bubbles accompany green apple, citrus zest, fresh apricot and floral notes. The palate is light-bodied and balanced, with lemon acidity, ripe apple and a citrus-and-green-apple close. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier make up the non-vintage blend. The mousse is creamy and sustained. Quince is also present, and the finish is long.
