AboutCasisano
Founded in 1990, Casisano became the Tommasi family’s Montalcino estate in 2015. It sits on a natural terrace 480 metres above sea level in southeastern Montalcino, with 22 hectares of vineyards within the 53-hectare property.
Sangiovese Grosso grows in soils of galestro, clay and limestone, cooled by northern winds and gentler sea breezes from the southwest. The estate’s Brunello matures in large Slavonian oak casks.
Casisano 2015 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Italian Red
Dark ruby colour accompanies red berries, forest fruit, peach and strawberry preserve. The palate is juicy and clear, with fine fruit, pointed tannins and a harmonious, lightly salty finish. Made entirely from Sangiovese Grosso in Tuscany, the wine ferments in wooden vats under controlled temperature. The estate vineyards sit at 480 metres on hills southeast of Montalcino.
