AboutCasa San Nicolás

Casa San Nicolás in the Jalisco Highlands is the distillery where Cirilo Oropeza began making Espolòn in 1996. The tequila takes its name from a rooster’s spur, while its labels by Steve Noble draw on José Guadalupe Posada’s skeleton imagery to tell stories of Mexican history and independence.

Espolòn is made from mature blue Weber agave harvested by hand in the Highlands. The agave is cooked in custom pressure cookers and crushed in roller mills, then the spirit is distilled twice using pot and column stills and bottled at Casa San Nicolás.

Espolòn Blanco Tequila 750 mL

Mexican Tequila & Mezcal
$52.99
Sweet roasted agave, tropical fruit and lemon zest lead the nose, followed by a measured pepper note. The palate is soft and balanced, with light-to-medium weight and a clean finish shaped by vanilla bean and grilled pineapple. Made entirely from Blue Weber agave, it is polished enough to sip neat and bright enough for a Paloma or classic Margarita.
