Caprili
Caprili grew from the Bartolommei family’s life as sharecroppers in Montalcino, where they settled at Podere Caprili in 1952. Alberto and Alfo purchased the property and planted Vigna Madre in 1965; the first Caprili Brunello followed with the 1978 vintage, and commercial release began in 1983. Successive Bartolommei generations continue the estate, with Giacomo Bartolommei now carrying its work into the wider life of the Brunello denomination.
The vineyards lie southwest of Montalcino, with Sangiovese Grosso at the centre and smaller parcels in nearby Cinigiano broadening the farm’s Tuscan footing. For Brunello, spontaneous fermentation in steel is followed by extended maturation in large Slavonian oak and further time in bottle. The approach is patient and direct: a family cellar using measured, traditional tools to express Montalcino rather than decorate it.

Italian Red
Cherry, liquorice, raspberry and spice define a dry, medium-bodied Tuscan red with present acidity and a generous mouthfeel. The wine shows deep ruby colour with violet reflections and ripe red fruit. Sangiovese is the principal variety. Natural fermentation proceeds without added yeast at controlled temperature, followed by ten days of maceration in stainless steel and continued steel storage until bottling the following year.

Morello cherry, wild raspberry and blood orange lead a vivid, traditional bouquet. Violet, lavender and wild fennel add lift, while tobacco, liquorice and earthy spice bring savoury depth. The palate is sleek and energetic, its ripe fruit carried by vibrant acidity and fine, chalky tannins. Mineral detail builds through the middle. Long and focused, it finishes with cherry, mint, bitter blackberry and a gentle iron note.
