AboutCampi Valerio

The Valerio family began restoring the Selvotta winery and small vineyards around Monteroduni in 2004, reviving a corner of inland Molise’s winegrowing tradition. The cellar had opened in 1974 to serve growers across the Upper Volturno valley.

Today, local grapes including Tintilia and Falanghina are central to its vineyards in the Apennine landscape. Steel and concrete are the main cellar vessels, with terracotta and older wooden casks chosen for some wines.

Falanghina comes from a one-hectare vineyard in Monteroduni, planted at 560 metres on mainly clay soil. Orange blossom and yellow-fleshed fruit appear with freshness, balance and pronounced minerality. The wine is dry and carries a medium finish, with field flowers, pear and white pepper also present.
