Paulo Santos founded Caminhos Cruzados in Nelas in 2012, building on his family’s interest in Dão wine. It makes wine from its own vineyards and selected growers across the region, with a winery opened at Quinta da Teixuga in 2017.
The Dão’s high vineyards, schist and granite soils and surrounding mountains shape the setting. At Quinta da Teixuga, a land-management programme begun in 2021 includes the surrounding woodland; sheep joined the vineyard work in 2022 to control weeds and help regenerate the soil.

Manual harvesting is followed by fermentation in vat. The red blend brings together Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen and Tinta Roriz. Its colour is youthful, balanced and bright, with red-fruit aromas and tannins in the profile. The wine comes from Portugal’s Dão designation and carries thirteen percent alcohol. Manuel Vieira is the named winemaker for the cuvée.
