AboutBrouwerij Huyghe

Léon Huyghe began working at a brewery in Melle in 1902 and bought it in 1906. Today, Alain De Laet leads the fourth generation of the family brewery.

Delirium Tremens, with its pink-elephant label, brought the brewery to an international audience. In 2015, Huyghe opened an on-site workshop offering supported employment.

Delirium Tremens Belgian Strong Blond Ale 5 L Mini Keg

Belgian Beer
$79.99
Straw-gold with a persistent white head, this strong Belgian blond ale brings malt, spice and ripe banana across a full, rounded palate. Fruity sweetness is checked by lively carbonation and a dry finish marked by lingering peppery spice. Serve cool from the keg with roast poultry, grilled fish, washed-rind cheese or savoury pastries; the generous format is particularly well suited to sharing.

Delirium Nocturnum Belgian Strong Dark Ale

Belgian Beer
$7.49
Dark brown-red with a compact, creamy head, this strong Belgian ale combines caramel, mocha and chocolate with dark fruit and roasted malt. The palate begins soft and rounded, then builds through hop and roast-derived bitterness toward a poised balance of bitter, tart and sweet. Serve cool with braised beef, aged Gouda, chocolate cake or toasted nuts; the layered finish rewards unhurried sipping.

Brouwerij Huyghe Delirium Tremens Belgian Strong Pale Ale 330 mL

Belgian Beer
$7.49
Round, warming and complex, this Belgian strong pale ale layers orchard fruit, spice and malt over a delicate sweetness. Fine hop character and mild bitterness keep the palate composed, while three yeast strains contribute aromatic depth. The finish is strong, long and dry-bitter rather than cloying. Serve cool with blue cheese, dark grain bread, roast pork, pâté or herb-roasted chicken.
