AboutBogle Family Vineyards

The Bogle family began farming in the Sacramento Delta in the late 1870s, planted twenty acres of wine grapes at its Clarksburg Home Ranch in 1968, and released wine under its own label a decade later. Siblings Warren, Jody and Ryan Bogle now represent the sixth generation of farmers and the third generation of winemakers.

For its Bogle range, the family uses grapes from its own vineyards and long-standing growers across California. Since the 2017 vintage, Bogle has required these growers to follow California Rules standards and has paid a bonus for certified fruit.

Bogle 2019 Old Vine Zinfandel

American Red
$34.99

Juniper, black pepper and nutmeg accompany cranberry, raspberry, red fruit, marionberry pie and baking spice. The mouthfeel is bold, and the finish is long and refined. Zinfandel comes from head-trained, dry-farmed vines between sixty and eighty years old, which produce small, concentrated grape clusters. The wine matures for ten months in two-year-old American oak and carries fourteen-and-a-half percent alcohol.
