AboutBodegas Nabal
The Navarro Balbás family brought more than thirty years of winemaking experience to Bodegas Nabal in Gumiel de Izán, in northern Ribera del Duero. Óscar Navarro leads the cellar, while his siblings look after the commercial side and welcome visitors.
The family works small vineyard parcels around 850 metres above sea level, including old bush vines, with pruning and harvesting carried out by hand. Tempranillo is made in small batches using native yeasts and a brief cold soak before fermentation.

Spanish Red
Clove, desert scrub and a spicy balsamic note accompany cassis, red plum, mulberry, vanilla, leather and tobacco. The palate is rich, with a smooth texture. Tempranillo comes from forty- to fifty-year-old bush vines on calcareous clay at 850 metres. Wild fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by natural malolactic fermentation. The wine then spends nine months in new French and American oak.
