AboutBodegas Luis Pérez

Luis Pérez Rodríguez, a University of Cádiz professor of oenology and former Domecq winemaker, founded Bodegas Luis Pérez with his children in Jerez in 2002. The family makes wines from individual vineyard parcels, drawing on the region’s historic vineyard districts and the wines traditionally made in each area.

Its revival of the Tintilla grape began with a first harvest of just 600 bottles in 2011. In 2013, the family began making unfortified wines at El Corregidor.

Bodegas Luis Pérez 2020 El Triángulo Tintilla

Spanish Red
$47.99
Made entirely from Tintilla, the fruit comes from vineyards in Balbaina, Corchuelo and Carrascal, each with distinct soils and microclimates. Harvest is by hand at night into small boxes holding no more than fourteen kilograms. Sixty percent of the grapes remain undestemmed. Vinification takes place in stainless steel and open barrels for about thirty days, with little pumping over, followed by roughly five months in used wood and fifteen months in tank.
