AboutBodegas Contreras Ruiz
Bodegas Contreras Ruiz is a family winery in Rociana del Condado, close to Doñana and the Atlantic coast. Its 1868 cellar has five high-ceilinged halls framed by ironwork characteristic of southern Spain. Third-generation cousins Antonio Francisco and José Joaquín Contreras lead the family’s work on wines from individual vineyard parcels.
Nine family-owned vineyard sites have plantings dating from the 1940s to the late 1990s. Zalema, the local white grape, accounts for around ninety percent of the planted area.

Winemaking includes skin contact, stainless-steel fermentation and six months on the lees, with a portion in French oak. The profile includes floral, citrus and Mediterranean-infusion notes, along with freshness, roundness, fruit and mineral tension.
