AboutBodegas Barón

Bodegas Barón’s history in Sanlúcar de Barrameda reaches back to the Romero de la Balsa winegrowers, whose work is recorded from 1630. Their old stocks of ageing wine passed to Manuel Barón in 1895, when the business began bottling under its own name. José Rodríguez Jiménez acquired the Molinillo cellars in 1984, and the next generation of his family continues the bodega today.

The Rodríguez Carrasco family farms El Poedo and El Hato, with almost 55 hectares of chalk-rich albariza soils between them, and operates its own press and two ageing cellars in Sanlúcar. The range includes Manzanilla and wines aged with longer exposure to air.
