AboutBodega Norton
English engineer Edmund James Palmer Norton came to Argentina to work on the railway across the Andes, then changed course in 1895 by buying a vineyard and founding a winery in Perdriel. Railway connections later brought Norton wines to dining cars crossing the Andes and to Buenos Aires. Gernot Langes-Swarovski acquired the estate in 1989 and preserved its cellar of wines dating back to 1936.
Norton farms five vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, with its winery still based in Perdriel. A 2021 renovation added a room for egg-shaped concrete vessels and concrete tanks.
Bodega Norton 2022 Reserva Malbec Mendoza
Argentinian Red
Intense red colour shows purple tones. Ripe, tart fruit combines with sweet tannins, while the palate is pleasant and persistent. Made entirely from Malbec grown between 900 and 1,200 metres in Mendoza, the wine ferments with selected yeast and undergoes natural malolactic fermentation. It matures for twelve months in second- and third-use French oak, followed by six months in bottle.
