AboutBartier Bros.
Brothers Don and Michael Bartier were raised in the Okanagan Valley and brought complementary paths to their winery: Don in accounting and business, Michael in viticulture and winemaking. Their first estate vineyard was planted on Don’s wife Sheila’s family property in Summerland.
Severe freezes left the winery with almost no 2023 crop and no 2024 crop. To keep the business operating, the brothers contracted fruit from three vineyards in Washington for Pristine, a separate range made at their Oliver winery. Meanwhile, damaged Okanagan vineyards entered a program of recovery and replanting.
Bartier Bros. 2024 Pristine Rosé
Canadian Rosé
Cabernet Sauvignon forms most of this pale rosé, joined by Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. The grapes come from Washington's Columbia Valley and the wine is made in Oliver, British Columbia. Watermelon, rosehip and cranberry tea appear with grapefruit, soft red berries, orchard fruit and fine spice. Bright acidity and a silky texture are also present in the crisp, refreshing profile.
