AboutBachelder
Thomas Bachelder’s approach was formed in Burgundy, where he trained and worked before taking his understanding of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to Oregon and, later, Niagara. In 2009, he and Mary Delany Bachelder began Three Terroirs, making Chardonnay in Burgundy, Oregon and Niagara, with Pinot Noir added later.
Their work is now centred on Niagara’s individual vineyard parcels. His cellar approach combines indigenous yeasts with restrained use of barrels.

Field berries and wild flowers lead the aroma, followed by raspberry, ripe cherry, cassis and a light anise note. Floral and incense details sit beside the fruit, with savoury spice appearing through the palate. The tannins are evident but smooth, and a mineral element supports the fruit. Cherry, spice and floral notes carry into the long, documented finish.
