Aveleda began at Quinta da Aveleda in 1870, when Manoel Pedro Guedes set a family property in the Vinho Verde region on a new course centred on wine. The Guedes family now leads the company in its fifth generation. Its vineyards span several Vinho Verde subregions, where high-density planting, ground cover, border planting and mulching are among the practices used to reduce the need for treatments.

Gentle pressing and cool fermentation preserve the clean fruit, while cold stabilization keeps the finish bright and refreshing.
