Atom Brands created Wormtub around an old form of whisky condenser: a copper coil immersed in cold water, through which spirit vapour passes. The first release, in March 2020, blended malts from several distilleries using these traditional worm tubs.
Atom later developed a ten-year-old single malt from an unnamed Speyside distillery, re-racked into sherry casks. It is bottled at natural colour without chill filtration, with cask strength varying by batch.

Charred fruitcake and flamed orange peel open the nose, followed by cassia, cocoa and baking spice. The palate is dense and savoury, combining honeyed cured-meat notes, oily walnut and aged marmalade with sweet sherried fruit and tangy cranberry. After ten years of maturation, the whisky was re-racked into first-fill sherry casks before being bottled at 56.9% cask strength, without chill filtration or added colour. The finish is long, earthy and warmly spiced. Serve neat and add water gradually.
