Vijariego Negro

Red fruits include sour cherry and cranberry, joined by blackcurrant, wildflowers, potpourri, liquorice, pepper, petrichor, smoke and volcanic mineral character. The palate is saline, savoury and richly flavoured, with firm but not grippy tannins and a long, tangy finish. Mixed red grapes from Taganana parcels ferment separately in concrete or plastic vats, then mature in neutral oak for eleven months.

Blackberry, cherry and wild strawberry open the nose, joined by crushed stone and a lift of wild herbs. Light to medium-bodied yet supple, the palate carries juicy red and dark fruit over fresh acidity and finely shaped tannins. Volcanic mineral character brings tension to a dry, lively and savoury finish.
