Fonseca NV Ruby Port
Black cherry and cassis fill the nose, joined by ripe plum and a subtle floral note. Full-bodied and sweet without losing shape, the palate carries dark berry fruit through velvety texture and firm, well-integrated tannins. Freshness keeps the richness composed, leading to a long, generous and fruit-driven finish.
Broadbent 1994 Vintage Port
Pepper and warm spice frame a concentrated core of dark fruit. The palate is broad and generous, carrying black cherry, plum and a touch of liquorice through a smooth, mature texture. Firm but resolved tannins give the sweetness shape rather than weight. The finish is long and warming, leaving dark berries, cocoa, spice and a gently savoury echo.
Niepoort 2013 Diálogo Douro Tinto
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Amarela form a red Douro blend. Ruby colour accompanies red-fruit and tea-leaf aromas, joined by pepper and a slate-like mineral note. The palate is fresh, structured and long, with integrated tannins. Medium body, black fruit, blueberry, spice and violet also characterize the dry style, which is suited to pork or grilled sausages.
Quevedo Tawny Port
Roasted almond, nougat, fig, orange peel and light fruitcake form an accessible tawny profile. The mouthfeel is soft, with rustic edges and a short finish carrying noticeable alcohol warmth. Touriga Nacional is joined by Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Cão. This non-vintage Port comes from Portugal’s Douro Valley and can be served slightly chilled with fruitcake or crème caramel.
Graham’s 2018 Late Bottled Vintage Port
Blackcurrant and blackberry meet dried mint, eucalyptus, liquorice and rock rose. The profile also includes black fruit, cocoa, black plum and white pepper. Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional lead the blend, with smaller portions of Sousão, Alicante Bouschet, Tinta Amarela and Tinta Barroca. It matured for five years in large oak barrels. Dark chocolate or firm cheeses are suitable companions.

Boysenberry and cardamom appear with mocha and charcuterie. Blackcurrant, liquorice, fragrant blue fruit, savoury depth, flowers and bay leaf fill a medium-bodied profile with a long palate. The six-grape field blend uses Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cão, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Alvarelhão and Sousão. Grapes are hand picked, destemmed and left uncrushed. Initial working is by foot, and maturation lasts ten months in old oak.
Smith Woodhouse 2013 Madalena Vintage Port
Floral perfume, fresh cassis and berry aromas accompany dark spice, chocolate and mint. The palate is fresh and ripe, with crunchy, fine and elegant tannins and a very long finish. This single-estate Vintage Port comes from Portugal’s Douro Valley. The blend includes Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional. Alcohol is 20 percent, and the wine is vegan.

Mateus Nicolau de Almeida 2022 Trans Douro Express Cima Corgo
A lightly vegetal note of damp grass meets white pepper, red berries and restrained spice. The palate is broad and smooth, with bright fruit and savoury freshness keeping the texture lively rather than heavy. Subtle earthy tones carry into a gently spicy finish. Serve slightly cool with roast lamb, grilled sausages, lentil stew or rustic mushroom dishes.
Luís Seabra 2020 Indie Xisto Tinto
Savoury red and blue fruit leads, with forest floor, wet stone and green herbs giving the nose a cool, earthy frame. Layered on the palate, it combines ripe berry depth with white and black pepper, fresh acidity and fine tannic grip. The finish is persistent, slate-led and quietly smoky, with the fruit remaining clear and composed.
