Malvasia Nera
Malvasia Nera
Vineka 2025 Rosso IGP Puglia
A bright ruby colour accompanies dark berry and stone-fruit aromas with liquorice and fresh herbs. Blackberry, cassis and plum appear on the full-bodied palate, supported by fresh acidity and smooth, velvety tannins. The finish has length. The blend combines Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera from Puglia and is identified as sustainably produced. Suggested pairings include cured meats, aged cheeses and grilled game.
Castello La Leccia 2021 Vivaio del Cavaliere Toscana Rosso IGT
Savoury and meaty aromas meet dried fruit and spice. Ripe black plum, bramble and bright red cherry appear with supple, structured tannins, acidity and a full finish. The blend uses Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera, Syrah and Ciliegiolo. Grapes are harvested by hand in September, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation and seven days of skin maceration. Maturation lasts six months in concrete.
Fattoria Selvapiana 2019 Chianti Rufina
Crushed cherry and red currant appear with red flowers, orange rind and crushed stone. Tart acidity accompanies fine, long, dry tannins and a lighter-bodied profile; a bitter-edged saline finish follows. Sangiovese is joined by small amounts of Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia Nera. Native-yeast fermentation and maceration last twenty-five days in stainless steel, followed by twelve months in large French casks.
Castellare di Castellina 2019 I Sodi di San Niccolò 3L
Ripe raspberry and black cherry are layered with violets, wild rosemary, white pepper and a mineral, iron-like note. The palate is medium-bodied and elegant, adding amaro, clove, mint and orange zest around pure Sangiovese fruit. Firm, ripe tannins give the wine structure without sacrificing its sleek line. Decant generously and serve with bistecca, braised beef, wild boar or aged Pecorino.
