Merlot and Gamay Noir form this British Columbia VQA blend, which carries thirteen point seven percent alcohol.
Rathjen Cellars 2020 Wine Bunker Red
Ripe mulberry, blackberry and damson plum are joined by light soy and cedar frond. The texture is light, with soft tannins, mouthwatering acidity and a long finish. Gamay Noir, Maréchal Foch and Pinot Noir come from Cowichan Valley and the Saanich Peninsula. Sixty percent of the fruit was crushed, destemmed and fermented on skins; the remainder underwent carbonic maceration. Indigenous yeast completed fermentation before two years in barrel.
