Bright ruby in colour, with an intense, complex profile of persistent red fruit, violet and spice. The palate is dry, soft and full-bodied, with freshness, minerality, gentle tannins and a balanced finish. The blend is eighty percent Sangiovese, ten percent Merlot and ten percent Colorino. Produced in the Chianti Classico area of Tuscany, the wine contains twelve and a half percent alcohol.

Ruby-purple colour accompanies red and black fruit, including currant, cassis, sour cherry and black-cherry syrup. Peach skin appears with rhubarb root, cinchona and liquorice. The profile includes delicate tannins, freshness and balance. The blend combines ninety percent Sangiovese with five percent Canaiolo and five percent Colorino. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature; maturation uses stainless steel and large oak.

Crushed cherry and red currant appear with red flowers, orange rind and crushed stone. Tart acidity accompanies fine, long, dry tannins and a lighter-bodied profile; a bitter-edged saline finish follows. Sangiovese is joined by small amounts of Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia Nera. Native-yeast fermentation and maceration last twenty-five days in stainless steel, followed by twelve months in large French casks.

Mostly Grechetto Rosso, a local Sangiovese clone, is joined by small amounts of Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Canaiolo and Vaiano. The grapes come from biodynamically cultivated volcanic soils in Lazio. Hand harvesting is followed by destemming, ten days on the skins and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in barrels. The wine then ages for one year in old Slavonian oak before bottling without filtration, fining or added sulphites.

Italian Red
Red fruit, strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, cassis, plum and floral notes define the profile. Sangiovese forms the blend with small amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino. The parcel covers 1.5 hectares and has an east-northeast exposure, producing a long growing season and complete grape maturation. The wine matures for eighteen months in large barrels and contains thirteen percent alcohol.

Violets, ripe plum and black pepper appear with blueberry, cassis, sage and rosemary. The palate is full-bodied, with racy acidity from Sangiovese and round intensity from Colorino. Cedar and forest floor mark the lingering finish. The inaugural dry release comes from high-elevation blocks at 550 metres and combines ninety-five percent Sangiovese with five percent Colorino.
Montevertine 2011 Toscana Rosso

Enormously silky and smooth, this Tuscan red shows finesse and elegance. The cuvée uses 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks for about twenty-one days, and malolactic fermentation also occurs in concrete. Ageing covers twenty-four months in Slavonian oak and about three months in bottle. It carries the Toscana IGT designation.

Red cherry and raspberry lead, lifted by a fragrant floral note and a subtle savoury edge. The palate is medium-bodied and poised, with fresh acidity, supple tannins and measured oak bringing gentle spice rather than weight. The finish stays clean and persistent, balancing vivid fruit with a restrained earthy undertone.
